How Long Do Lab Results Take? What to Expect After Your Blood Draw

When will I get my lab results? Here's everything you need to know about result timelines, how results are delivered, and what to do if your results are delayed.

How Long Do Results Take?

Result timelines depend on the type of test you ordered:

  • Standard blood tests (CBC, metabolic panel, lipids, thyroid, etc.): 2–6 business days after your blood draw

  • Specialized tests (hormones, genetic panels, some antibody tests): up to 14–16 business days after your blood draw

  • Note: Business days do not include weekends or holidays

Do All Results Come Back at the Same Time?

No β€” results come back on a rolling basis. This is completely normal. You may see some results appear in your dashboard before others. For example, a CBC result might show up in 2 days while a hormone panel from the same blood draw takes 10 days.

You will receive a text notification each time new results are available.

How Do I View My Results?

You can check your results anytime by logging in to your GoodLabs account:

  1. Navigate to your Health dashboard at app.goodlabs.com/biomarkers

  2. Your results will appear as they become available

You'll also receive a text message when results start coming in.

What If My Results Are Taking Longer Than Expected?

If your results haven't appeared yet:

  • Under 10 business days (standard tests): This is within the normal window. Results are still processing at the lab.

  • Under 16 business days (specialized tests): Specialized tests take longer. Check your Health dashboard for any partial results that may have arrived.

  • Over 15 business days: Contact our support team and we'll follow up with the lab on your behalf.

Important: Some results may show as "pending" on your dashboard. This means the lab has received your sample and is processing it.

Why Might Results Be Delayed?

Common reasons for delayed results include:

  • The lab is processing a high volume of tests

  • Your test requires a specialized analysis that takes longer

  • The lab needs to re-run a test for quality assurance

  • Holiday periods can add 1–2 extra business days

I Got a Notification but Can't See All My Results

If you received a notification but only see some results, this is normal. Results arrive on a rolling basis, and the notification was for the results that are ready. The remaining results will follow as the lab completes them.

Check your Health dashboard at app.goodlabs.com/biomarkers to see which results are available and which are still pending.
